CGA Law Firm Welcomes 2 Exceptional Litigators
CGA Law Firm is excited to welcome two new attorneys to the CGA Litigation Department.
Attorneys Renée Franchi and Liliana Garcia are litigators joining the firm with extensive experience, which included serving the community in the York County District Attorney’s office.
Attorney Renée Franchi grew up in New England. She completed an undergraduate degree in Biology at Boston University in 2008 and then worked with in-house counsel for a construction company. This experience spawned an interest in construction, oil and gas, and environmental litigation. She made the decision to attend law school at The University of Pittsburgh where she earned her Juris Doctorate in 2012. After graduation, Renée worked in private practice in Western Pennsylvania and began litigating oil and gas, environmental and land use matters, as well as family and criminal cases.
In 2014, Renée joined the York County District Attorney’s Office and began her service prosecuting juvenile defendants. Soon thereafter she began serving as an Appellate Attorney. Renée is a skilled writer and advocate, briefing and arguing cases before the Pennsylvania Superior and Supreme Courts, as well as the Middle District of Pennsylvania. At the District Attorney’s office, she served the community as a Senior Deputy Prosecutor and as a member of the Adult Mental Health Court and Juvenile Drug Court treatment court teams. Most recently, Renée was a litigator and supervisor of a trial team in front of the Honorable Judge Craig T. Trebilcock.
Through the years, Renée has tried many cases before a jury as lead chair and co-chair, including homicides, violent felonies, and drug delivery resulting in death cases. She was also a member of the reviewing team for incoming cases involving financial crimes against elders and complex white collar crimes.
Attorney Liliana Garcia is a bilingual, litigator skilled in managing all phases of a legal action. She uses her extensive experience to represent clients in both English and Spanish and is licensed to practice in Pennsylvania and New Jersey.
Liliana attended Seton Hall University in 2010, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology with a minor in Spanish. In 2014, she completed her Juris Doctorate from Penn State Dickinson School of Law, the oldest law school in Pennsylvania. During law school, she was a member of Dickinson’s National Trial Team (competing nationally) and the Annual Mock Trial Competitions, and a Clerk for the Penn State Phi Alpha Delta Fraternity (a fraternity advancing the legal profession).
In 2015, Liliana joined the York County District Attorney’s Office and began her service in the Juvenile Unit, where she handled cases involving minors charged with a crime. In a short time she transitioned to prosecuting adult defendants as part of a criminal court team. In her role on a trial team, she managed numerous cases dealing with many diverse aspects of the law including DUIs, white-collar crime, drug-related charges, cases involving domestic violence, and other forms of misdemeanor and felonies.
Through the years, Liliana has handled countless jury trials, achieving scores of primarily favorable convictions on behalf of the Commonwealth and the victims of York County. During 2018, Liliana tried the most jury trials of all the attorneys in her office—a fact that demonstrates her willingness to tackle challenging circumstances and advocate assertively for her clients. Liliana is an advocate and supporter of the Spanish-speaking community.
Renée and Liliana are exceptional attorneys and CGA Law Firm is pleased to offer their litigation services to the community.
