About Us

Affordable Housing Advocates is one of the first non-profit housing development corporations in York County. Founded in 1971, the organization was created to provide much needed affordable and decent housing for York's low-income residents.

In 2021, York Area Housing Group changed its doing business as (DBA) name to Affordable Housing Advocates to reflect the renewed commitment of the organization to provide quality, affordable housing in our community. We have proudly served the York County community for 50 years!

Through our related entities, we own, manage, and develop affordable housing. We specialize in a variety of housing types: HUD (Section 8, HOME), USDA Rural Development, and Low-Income Housing Tax Credit programs. We are also recognized as a Community Housing Development Organization (CHDO).

AHA has developed or co-developed over 500 homes and/or apartments throughout York County. We proudly provide housing to approximately 530 individuals on an annual basis.
