HVAC Repair/Lab Technician

Job Description
Position Summary:
The HVAC Repair/Lab Technician is responsible for testing and troubleshooting of completed ECU’s (Environmental Control Units) to ensure reliability and adherence to customer specifications. An ideal candidate would have sound knowledge and experience in Heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC). They would also collect and maintain ECU test data by performing the following duties:
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Tests and troubleshoots completed ECU’s.
  • Interprets tests data.
  • Understand pressure and temperature charts.
  • Read and understand electrical and refrigeration schematics.
  • Understand psychometric chart.
  • Ability to perform brazing and leak checking of ECU’s.
  • Refrigerant handling including charging and recovery.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of every ECU tested.
  • Diagnose ECU’s for repair.
  • Handles field service work and repair.
  • Maintain a high level of 5’s workplace organization.
  • Complete traveler paperwork.
  • Meet customer’s product quality requirements. Report any product quality issues.
  • Responsible for adherence to Tekgard Quality Manual, safety and corporate policies, Standards of Conduct, rules and procedures.
  • Offer new ideas and methods to achieve Continual Improvement.
  • Maintains a clean and safe work environment.
  • Perform any related functions as required.
High school diploma, general education degree (GED) or higher and (1) one year related experience and or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. EPA Section 608 Certificate for safe refrigerant handling, brazing and forklift experience.
