Description
SME York Chapter 22 is celebrating our 80th anniversary in conjunction with October being Manufacturing Month. We would like to invite you to “Celebrate Manufacturing in South Central Pennsylvania” as we take this opportunity of “Looking Back Toward the Future”. We have two exciting speakers. Terrence “Dutchie” Downs, York’s only Regional History / Creative Community Broker, will look back at York County’s rich heritage in manufacturing from the 1800’s to 1938. He will discuss how the products made here have impacted the world. John McElligott, CEO of York Exponential, will look toward the future starting with the 1938 York Plan and how York’s manufacturing strength and strategic planning helped save the world, during WWII. He will then take us into the future with York Plan 2.0 and propose how York can continue to impact the world through manufacturing. Menu: Hot Buffet; chicken, starch, vegi-combo, salad, desert & drinks
