Description
Join us on May 26 as we welcome a panel of presenters to talk about YoCo's Eco-Friendly Economy. Joining our panel is Christian Templeton, Senior Marketing Communications Manager with the Voith Group; Joel Harrington, Director of Public Policy and Institutional Affairs for the Eastern U.S. Region of Enel Green Power; and Alexis Campbell, Executive Director for the Horn Farm Center for Agricultural Education.
Founded in 1867, Voith employs over 19,000 people today at locations in over 60 countries of the world. Voith’s operating business is bundled in four Group Divisions: Voith Hydro, Voith Paper, Voith Turbo and Voith Digital Ventures. Through its flagship facility in York, Pennsylvania, Voith traces its American hydropower manufacturing heritage back over 140 years. A quarter of the energy generated worldwide from hydropower is produced with turbines and generators from Voith Hydro.
Enel Green Power, within the Enel Group, develops and operates renewable energy plants worldwide and is present in Europe, the Americas, Asia, Africa and Oceania. A world leader in clean energy, with a total capacity of around 49 GW and a generation mix that includes wind, solar, geothermal, and hydroelectric power, Enel Green Power is at the forefront of integrating innovative technologies into renewable energy plants. In York County, Enel Green Power is building two solar farms to harness the renewable energy of the sun and provide electricity to businesses and residences throughout YoCo.
The 186-acre nonprofit Horn Farm Center for Agricultural Education was established in 2004 and dedicated to the wellbeing of our community and natural environment. Horn Farm is redefining best practices in farming and, as part of the watershed that feeds the Susquehanna River, promoting stewardship the ecosystem of the farm, river, and Chesapeake Bay. By restoring ecosystems, cultivating healthy soil, producing abundant yields, protecting our watershed and teaching others to do the same, the Horn Farm Center is redefining agriculture and growing a community of land stewards.
Following the program will be a Q&A session open to all attendees.
